In India, it is said that if you are going to start any new thing first pooja is performed and Ladoo are distributed.If, someone starts a new project first Ladoo are distributed among all the nearer and dearer.Ladoo is the first choice of every Indian as sweet.Every Pooja is started with Ladoo Bhog.Starting from the birth of a child till death ladoo plays a very important role in any Indian’s life.
In India we have several types of sweets.Some of the sweets can be easily made at home.
Ladoo actually became famous as Bundi Ka Ladoo.The ingredients of Bundi ka ladoo is Basin, Ghee and Sugar.It is very easy to make Ladoo at home .Ladoo is the cheapest sweet among all other sweets.There are different types of ladoos available in the market.Baisan ka ladoo, Boondi ka ladoo, Khoya ladoo, Nariyal ka ladoo, Moong Ka Ladoo, etc.
It is said that Lord Ganesha loves Boondi ka ladoo and that’s why in his prayer it is coated,‘Jai Ganesh jai Ganesh Jai Ganesh Deva, maata teri Parwati peeta Mahadeva, Laduan ka Bhog Lage Sant karay seva.” Lord Krishana’s childhood name is given as Ladoo Gopal.If you have a chance to visit any Indian temple you will be given ladoo as Prasad.If you ever have a chance to visit Tirupati Baalaji temple at Tirupati in Kerala which is situated in south India, you will get special ladoo made of dry fruits.After eating it everyone demands for more and one can buy it from the temple at very low cost.
If there is some good news everyone ask for the Ladoo.If one gets new job or promotion he/she distributes ladoo among office staff.If someone is of marriageable age then every relative and friend circle people will ask a simple question that ladoo kab khila rahe ho? It means shadii kab kar rahe ho.When there is a marriage in the family then Boondi ke ladoo are made at large scale.After marriage these ladoos are distributed to all relatives, friends and neighbours.In Northern Indian states like Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Utter Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh etc.without ladoos an auspicious occasion is considered incomplete.
There is one another type of Ladoo naming Goond ka Ladoo.When ever a lady gives birth to a child at that time this ladoo is prepared at every Indian house especially in North Indian.It is full of nutrients.It is very useful for the mother of newly born child.It helps in increase in production of mother milk.It also doesn’t allow the increase in size of tummy of the mother.
During winter season, ladoos are made in every Indian home.It may be Goond ka ladoo, Khoya ladoo or Moong ka Ladoo.If one visits to relative or friends house you will be served tea with some type of ladoo.Richest to poorest all distribute Ladoo on every good happening in their lives.In India there are some people who can eat a large quantity of Ladoos at a time.There are people who can eat nearly hundred ladoos each weighing nearly 50 gram.
So, we can say that Ladoo is the king of Sweets.
